How To Match Your Suit And Tie?

Have you ever noticed how some people simply never look right in a suit and tie? It could possibly be that they are the type of person who would look untidy regardless of what he's wearing. I have a son who is exactly like this. It would make no difference if he were well groomed and dressed in a smart Armani suit.T…he would still look like a sack of garbage.

It could also be the case that the suit, tie, shirt and shoes simply do not go together well. More often than not, this is the cause of the problem. Most men are either unable to co-ordinate the ensemble, or simply don't worry too much about it.

The saying goes "clothes maketh the man" and you should always make an effort to look your best. This should be the case whether dressing for work or simply to socialize. It's not difficult.

It's nowhere near as easy to pick a suit that will look great with a shirt and tie you already possess, so start with the suit. Hopefully, when you bought it you gave plenty of thought to the style, fabric and color. If it's a made to measure variety, the tailor will certainly have had some input regarding each of these points. Unless feeling a little outrageous, stick with plain dark colors.

If you need a power suit, it needs to be navy blue with a clean, plain white shirt and a plain dark contrasting tie. A white shirt with a plain dark suit always looks formal and business - like. Alternatives are pastel shades of blue. Again the tie should contrast and match the tone of the suit.

Ties with a pattern tend to be more informal in their use and should be worn as such. They must be avoided when wearing patterned shirts because the impression will be that there is just "too much happening" within the attempted look.

Lighter colored men's suits require pastel colored shirts. These can match up well with patterned ties. A nice darker, striped, silk tie would be perfect.

Finally, when wearing shirt, suit and tie all of which contain more than one color, ensure that they each contain at least a small sample of the major suit color. Full use of the mirror or a second opinion is always useful.
